Well, I’m about to ask you to take 40 minutes out of your day to watch an episode of the Oprah Winfrey show. I klicked a link, started watching it and told myself no, I don’t have 40 minutes right now. But, here we are. I just believe that everyone who has an interest in food and the food industry should stay informed (and, seeing as we all need to eat to live, I’d go so far as to say that we all have a vested interest in this), and this episode is relatively short, it’s nuanced, and, uh.. Oprah is damn cool. She is.
Don’t be intimidated by the title of the episode. As I said, it’s nuanced. It’s about choices, but first and foremost about staying aware and informed. There are so many notions concerning what and how we should eat that are so deeply ingrained into our collective system of beliefs that it almost seems like people feel like heretics when they are confronted with something that asks them to challenge the propriety of those notions.
